As it is said, “First impression is the last impression”, same goes with your website also. So, designing is the most important part in the web development process. When a customer goes to your website, the first thing which will appear in front of him is the design or look of the website.

If you have difficulty seeing small type or are susceptible to eye strain you should consider going with something that has a larger screen. You can connect your net book to a monitor but it defeats the purpose of the mini net books.

World Wide Web Consortium has put some “rules” for coding websites. Keeping this in mind will keep any errors out of your HTML and CSS. This also goes with having your website cross browser compliant. This includes functionality, layout and design should all work and look the same in all internet browsers and operating systems.

There are probably hundreds if not thousands of books and seminars on all of that. I have read and attended some of them. All the old sayings like “it’s who you know not what you know” and the power of networking are all true.

Last week I was challenged with the biggest kansas city web design project I’ve ever faced. Designing websites is something I love to do especial when the client knows exactly what they want.

It is very crucial when you wish to create a professional web portal with excellent and different features. WordPress however, enables you to make a website fast and simple. Therefore, Joomla is flexible, since you can even use it to create a simpler website.

These are just some of the few skills that a web developer should come equipped with. If you as a web developer are missing some of these skills, try to start learning more about the ones you feel you are lacking. This will not only make you more valuable but also more of a professional in your market.
